Noscopo is a personal-safety service for people hosting or meeting guests in Colombia. It verifies a guest's cédula against the national registry, records the user's exact check-in location, and runs a check-in timer that escalates on its own if nobody answers it.
The design assumption is that the moment you most need help is the moment you cannot ask for it. So the safeguard is inverted: instead of raising an alarm, you simply check in. Silence is what triggers the response.
If a check-in is missed, Noscopo alerts the user's emergency contact by SMS and WhatsApp. After twenty-four hours it notifies local authorities with the last known location and the identity of the person the user was with — which is the part that only works because the cédula was verified against the registry up front, before anyone walked through a door.
